Google Acquires JotSpot after Youtube

Google has recently acquired JotSpot, the wiki software company, however for an undisclosed sum.

The recent blockbuster of Google “YouTube” mainly focused on video search and sharing, JotSpot acquisition puts a focus on another part of Google’s larger strategy: “communication, show and share.” This category have also included tools for blogs, calendaring, photo sharing, document processing G-mail, and many more.

JotSpot is actually a smaller company than YouTube and, although the wiki concept has taken off civility of Wikipedia, it is not very clear whether wiki’s application like JotSpot will succeed free wiki’s as MediaWiki (which powers Wikipedia). When compared YouTube’s video sharing model is proved more demonstrated.
